About This Webinar
The term artificial intelligence (AI) has been around since the 1950’s but most attempts at achieving a form of useful technology based on AI techniques have never delivered results. This changed in 2012 with the release of AlexNet, a Convolution Deep Neural Network (C-DNN) that was able to perform very well on the ImageNET Image Classification competition. AlexNet beat the previous year’s winner by a significant amount and two years later similar C-DNN’s were able to beat human performance at Image Classification. Deep neural networks with billions of parameters trained on extremely large datasets is driving the current excitement about AI.

Bruce focuses on how the latest advancements in AI are helping extend the capabilities of vision guided robots for many different industries including: automotive, logistics, food, pharmaceuticals, and others. He shares a basic understanding of D-CNNs with two to three examples from different industries that highlight how AI either improved the process or enabled it.
