DISTANCE SENSOR
Mar 1, 1998 — Martin, Froeschner & Associates is offering its digital laser distance sensor with accuracy greater than one part per million. There is no minimum range and, unlike triangulating sensors, no requirement for lateral clearance. The laser spot size on the target may be as small as 50 µm, and the measuring rate is selectable from 1 to 10,000 measurements per second. Maximum range is as high as 100 m, depending on the reflectivity of the target and the optics selected.
