UV POLARIZER
Berliner Glas GmbH
Polarizing beamsplitting cubes for high-power UV radiation sources in wavelengths from 270 to 350 nm have been introduced by Berliner Glas. They provide polarization of more than 98% for UV sources with output of up to 1 kW. The devices polarize a XeCl lamp's 308-nm radiation in an angular range of ±11°, which corresponds to a numerical aperture of ~0.2. The company says that the large angular range of the cubes' numerical aperture is an advantage over crystals, which work on the basis of double refraction and total reflection.
