SANTA CLARA, Calif., May 13, 2010 — DPSS Lasers Inc. has announced its Titan Infinity Series of 355-nm true continuous-wave solid-state laser systems with up to 200-mW output. Typical applications include flow cytometry, confocal microscopy, bio-fluorescence, biological threat detection, photobleaching and inspection.
The systems target applications that previously were supported by mode-locked technology because of the unavailability of real continuous-wave UV lasers with sufficient power. Key advantages of the new systems are their TEM00 beam quality with M² <1.3 for high resolution, ultralow noise of <1% rms and high stability of >5% over 8 h.
Built on field-proven and patented intracavity conversion technology, the systems are suited for delicate scientific experiments as well as for industrial 24/7 “workhorse” operation. Extensive lifetime and trouble-free operation are supported by a rigid sealed structure. For remote control, the lasers feature a full RS-232 interface.
Beam pointing stability is <25 µrad, polarization (linear, horizontal) is >100:1, full-angle beam divergence is <0.3 mrad, elipticity is <10%, astigmatism is <0.3, and warm-up time is <1 h. Input voltage is from 90 to 240 VAC, maximum power consumption is <1000 W, and ambient operating temperature is from 10 to 30 °C.
