An ergonomic and compact tissue culture microscope has been launched
by Carl Zeiss MicroImaging Inc. The Primo Vert Monitor renders the quick check of
living cells easier, replacing traditional eyepieces with an integrated digital
camera and an LCD. The new design offers convenient documentation and high-quality
optics. Users can work in a more relaxed position because their heads are no longer
fixed to microscope eyepieces. The monitor can be tilted from 45° up to 80°,
enabling researchers to adjust the LCD monitor to their individual postures. Eyeglasses
don’t have to be removed. For documentation and safety purposes, the microscopic
images can be stored on the SD memory card via the integrated push-to-save camera,
a step that does not require a PC connection.
