EV laser welding to be optimised by beam
shaping. It redistributes intensity and
changes the shape of the laser profile,
improving stability and controlling the
melt-pool thermal characteristics at the
weld spot, as well as in pre and post weld
regions. Consequently, weld strength and
efficiency are improved. Spatter is also
reduced leading to improved safety of
EV batteries and fuel cell weld processes.
