SuperGamut UV-NIR Spectrometers
BaySpec Inc.Request Info
FREMONT, Calif., May 7, 2010 — The SuperGamut UV-NIR series spectrometers manufactured by BaySpec Inc. use a concave holographic diffraction grating as the spectral dispersion element and an ultrasensitive thermoelectrically cooled CCD array detector as the detection element, thereby providing high-speed parallel processing and continuous spectrum measurements.
The devices use a fiber optic input or slit optics arrangement, based on customer preferences. The signal is spectrally dispersed with the grating, and the diffracted field is focused onto the CCD array detector. The control electronics read out the processed digital signal to extract required information. Both the raw data and the processed data are available to the host.
The spectrometers are designed for high performance, long-term reliability and compact size. They use low-cost field-proven components and cover the spectral range from 190 to 1080 nm.
The devices are rugged and reliable and have no moving parts. They provide good optical throughput with f/3 optics and fast millisecond response time. They are factory-calibrated for long life. Resolution is ~1 to 20 nm, slit-dependent, and the signal-to-noise ratio is 6000:1. Stray light is 0.05%, and integration time is from 20 ns to 300 s.
The spectrometers measure 94 × 154 × 50 mm and weigh 750 g. The detector array has 2048 × 64 active pixels and is powered through USB. A 16-bit analog-to-digital converter is included. The software runs on Windows 2000/XP or later.
Applications include biochemical, chemical analysis, high-performance liquid chromatography and high-performance gas chromatography engines, color/dyes, dissolution, environmental, multicomponent analysis, proteins, quality assurance/quality control of mixtures, small-volume samples and sunscreens.
