BioChromato Inc. has announced a gamma sterilized version of its RAPID Slit Seal proprietary self-closing microplate seal for scientists looking to eliminate solvent evaporation from samples when culturing cells in 96-well microplates.
The seal returns to its original state even when punched with a high-performance liquid chromatography or liquid chromatography-mass spectroscopy autosampler. As a result, loss of volatile solvents from valuable samples is eliminated. Seal insertion of pipette tips and sampling needles is easier and can be achieved without dragging, saving users time and effort when dispensing or sampling.
Sealing without the use of adhesives avoid the potential for sample contamination. In comparison to traditional sealing mats, RAPID Slit Seal also reduces the cost of microplate sealing consumables.
