Flir Systems Inc. designed the Ultra 7000 dual-sensor airborne camera system to provide higher altitude, long-range search and surveillance for rotary and fixed-wing aircraft any time of day. The unit incorporates an InSb IR focal plane array detector that operates in the 3- to 5-µm range, a 10x continuous zoom IR lens with a focal range of 25 to 250 mm, and a color CCD camera that also features a 10x continuous zoom lens for daytime surveillance. The Ultra 7000 camera is specifically designed for airborne law enforcement applications.
