SPECTROMETERS
MKS/NewportRequest Info
The OSM2 spectrometers unveiled by Newport Corp. have a more powerful sensor array than their predecessors. They also feature a back-thinned 2048-element CCD with improved UV and near-IR sensitivity, a three times higher dynamic range, 50% less noise and a signal-to-noise ratio that is 50% better. The turnkey portable instruments have low stray light and subnanometer resolution. The OSM2-400 models can operate as stand-alone devices with an LCD screen running on battery power. Their 32-bit RISC CPU and built-in math functions facilitate data acquisition, configuration and storage. Data can be stored, archived and transported on SmartMedia memory cards or can be stored on the onboard 4-MB memory. Software allows remote control of the spectrometer via an RS-232, USB or Ethernet interface. Models cover the 200- to 1100-nm spectral range, and all include a 1-m-long, 400-mm-core fused silica fiber as well as data acquisition and control software.
