The Optical Systems Div. of Marshall Electronics Inc. says its single CMOS sensor camera is the first commercially available camera on a chip made entirely in the US. The black-and-white output system uses a 0.333-in. format with a 300 3 240- pixel array. Resolution is 225 TV lines, and the signal-to-noise ratio is better than 45 dB. Other features include a built-in video switch, on-chip auto exposure, switchable gamma correction, automatic gain control, pixel clock output and built-in edge enhancement.
