The uncooled pump laser modules from Coherent are made with Coherent’s G10 series laser diode technology and are meant to be used in submarine and both single- and dual-chip terrestrial applications. Built in a compact 10-pin form factor, the laser modules have a 1000-mW or 2×700-mW output power with both symmetrical and asymmetric options depending on the application. The uncooled modules also help to reduce overall power consumption and can eliminate the need for much of the thermal and power management equipment associated with legacy cooled lasers.
