Furukawa Electric has extended the normal C-band range of the FRL1441U Series pump laser to enable applications in the S-band and L-band of high output power, low power consumption for Raman amplifiers. The lasers are optimized with 700 mW output for S-band applications and 500 mW output, low power consumption for L-band applications. The design reduces the laser footprint by enabling use of a single pump laser instead of the previously required two to achieve higher output power.
