STUTTGART, Germany, Dec. 9, 2024 — The Q.ANT NPU from Q.ANT is a photonics-based native processing unit (NPU) built on the company’s light empowered native arithmetic (LENA) compute architecture. The NPU can train and achieve accurate recognition with only 0.1 million parameters and 0.2 million operations, is able to perform a simple 8-bit multiplication with a single optical element, and can control light at the chip level due to the LENA platform. The Q.ANT NPU is designed for compute-intensive applications such as AI inference, machine learning, and physics simulations.
