Version 11.4 of VPIphotonics GmbH’s Design Suite software for photonic components and optical transmission systems provides access to 900 professional, application-specific simulation tools and pluggable toolkits.
The update advances the simulation and design flow for many applications: digital signal processors and equalization, free-space optics, lidar technologies, Raman for wideband systems, semiconductor lasers and optical amplifiers, and more. It features an atmospheric channel model for airborne and terrestrial links, ground-to-satellite, and satellite-to-ground links, as well as an inter-satellite channel model that accounts for pointing jitter and the Doppler effect.
