Photoacoustic Laser SourceThe PhotoSonus+ high-energy laser source from Ekspla is designed for photoacoustic imaging applications.

For researchers requesting higher sample imaging depth and resolution, PhotoSonus+ delivers up to 250 mJ of pulse energy at a 10-Hz repetition rate. The system consists of a high-energy Q-switched laser, parametric oscillator, power supply, and cooling unit, all integrated in a single robust cart-type housing to provide mobility, ease of use, and low maintenance costs.

The flexible platform makes it easy to be integrated and used in a photoacoustic imaging system. It is fully motorized and computer-controlled, with user trigger outputs and inputs and special options such as motorized switching between OPO signal and idler, motorized attenuator, internal energy meter, and electromechanical output shutter.

A fast wavelength switching option enables each laser pulse to have at different wavelengths within the entire signal or idler range, at any step, and in any order. For user convenience, the output of PhotoSonus+ laser can be customized for being coupled with any type of fiber bundle.
