Passive Vibration Isolator
Minus K Technology Inc.Request Info
INGLEWOOD, Calif., Sept. 29, 2020 — The ultra-thin, low-height CT-2 passive vibration isolator from Minus K Technology is a negative-stiffness device that adapts to space constraints in micro- and nano-technology microscopy applications.
The passive tabletop unit is 2.5 in. in height, delivering 0.5-Hz vertical natural frequency, and ~1.5-Hz horizontal natural frequencies. Negative-stiffness isolators employ a mechanical concept in low-frequency vibration isolation, and they do not require electricity or compressed air. Operating in a passive mechanical mode, the CT-2 isolator achieves a high level of isolation in multiple directions. It has the flexibility of custom tailoring resonant frequencies vertically.
When adjusted to 0.5 Hz vertical natural frequency, the CT-2 negative-stiffness isolator achieves approximately 93% isolation efficiency at 2 Hz, 99% at 5 Hz; and 99.7% at 10 Hz.
