Daco Instrument optical shutter and rotary solenoid pairingAdvanced optical shutters and rotary solenoid device pairings are available from Daco Instrument Co.

Used to provide precise blocking, unblocking and modulation of beams of natural or UV light, the devices are suitable for application in ophthalmological and dental devices, thermal and IR imaging, and spectroscopy.

The rotary solenoids are up to 25 percent more reliable than linear solenoid technologies. They can match the advanced reliability of iris shutter technologies but are more cost effective and energy efficient.

Devices are available in spring format for applications that prioritize reliability and bistable format for applications that prioritize energy efficiency. Clockwise and counterclockwise rotations are available with rotation angles of up to 60° for spring solenoids and up to 75° for bistable solenoids.

Daco offers small-batch prototyping to large-volume production runs.
