Opto Power Corp. has developed the OPC-ORU-C2M, a CCD-based optical reimaging unit that focuses light from the company's fiber-coupled diode lasers and OEM laser modules into smaller or larger spot sizes. The unit is equipped with a small color CCD camera that provides on-axis, real-time views of laser spots as they are focused onto target areas. It is available with working distances up to 42 mm and is powered by a 12-V battery or AC adapter. Applications include soldering, marking, heat treating, sintering and welding.
