When pumped with the Powerlite 8000 or 9020, Continuum's Sunlite optical
parametric oscillator provides output energy of up to 35 mJ, 40% more than
the previous model. An alternative to dye lasers, this device delivers a
linewidth of <0.1 cm21 and offers users direct
access to the visible spectrum, wavelength on command and high gain in a
single optic set. The FX-1 frequency extension module provides coverage
from 225 to 450 nm. The device is suitable for multiphoton ionization, Raman
spectroscopy, lidar and luminescence studies.
