The Ophir SupIR™ MWIR f/5.5 long-range zoom lens from MKS Instruments Inc. is a 50- to 1350-mm, motorized, continuous device for security and surveillance applications in complete darkness over long distances.
The lens is based on a folded optic design with a 27× motorized zoom ratio, suited for VGA and HD IR sensors. The lens is optimized for stabilized payloads with capabilities for high-resolution vision, identification in harsh environmental conditions, and on constrained platforms while maintaining focus and tight line of sight retention through the entire zoom range.
The lens can also be used for commercial and defense applications such as visualizing objects and situations that may not be visible to the human eye for small size unmanned aerial vehicles, threats at airports and state borders, gas leaks, and more.
