The VersaSolder from nanosystec is a laser soldering unit for applications including attaching single-mode fibers to silicon photonic chips for quantum computing. The modular unit uses a laser system with different modules depending on the needed wavelength and an optical head that generates up to 40 individual sub beams that can process more than one connection at the same time. The VersaSolder also features hot bar soldering and a CCD camera that monitors solder joint quality through the solder optics.
