The IRis Laser Safety Wand from Scintacor Ltd. is an intelligent scintillator designed to protect personnel and infrastructure.
The device makes invisible, high-power IR laser light, commonly used in DWDM systems operating in S/C/L bands at around 1500 nm, visible. It deliberately prevents the misregistration of false positives with lower power lasers also used in data centers. The IRis enables engineers to validate that the high-power laser has been deactivated before they start work on an optical fiber or connector, while still allowing the lower power lasers to operate.
