Laser Power Sensor
MKS Instruments Inc.Request Info
MKS Instruments Inc. has announced the L50(150)A-LP2-35, the newest addition to the Ophir line of LP2 laser power/energy sensors with high damage threshold.
The L50(150)A-LP2-35 is a compact, thermal measurement sensor for use with high-power-density and long-pulse lasers. The L50(150)A-LP2-35 features a 35-mm aperture, measuring laser power from 100 mW to 50 W continuously, and up to 150 W intermittently. It can also measure power up to 4000 W from a short 0.4-s exposure to the laser. The sensor measures laser energy from 40 mJ to 3000 J.
The new LP2 coating offers very high absorption, which reduces dangerous and often harmful back reflection. The coating also allows the sensor to measure concentrated, lower power beams and short exposures of higher power, providing a 33-kW/cm2 damage threshold at full continuous-wave power of 150 W. The coating also reduces reflection, absorbing 95 percent at most wavelengths, and is spectrally flat at ±1 percent from 0.25 to 2.2 µm.
