DARMSTADT, Germany, Feb. 11, 2015 — Designed to meet the demanding requirements of ultrafast laser applications, Newport Corp.’s new antireflection-coated fused silica lenses are available in 12.7- and 25.4-mm diameters.
The UV-grade fused silica precision plano-convex lenses are polished to tight tolerances for minimum wavefront distortion. The AR coating is optimized for broadband ultrafast laser wavelengths. The extreme purity of the fused silica eliminates microscopic defects that could lead to laser damage in high-energy applications. Tight surface quality tolerances minimize scatter and unwanted diffraction effects.
The AR coating provides transmission of >98 percent from 660 to 1380 nm and >95 percent from 640 to 1500 nm per surface.
