ITASCA, Ill., Feb. 20, 2014 — The LS-9000 multiaxis optical micrometer by Keyence Corp. is dedicated to diameter inspection in high-throughput industrial applications.

Featuring a newly designed LED system and CMOS, it offers a sampling rate of 16,000 Hz and a repeatability of 0.03 µm. It has no moving parts and incorporates a vibration-isolation system within the head.

The instrument is available with a target monitor and tilt correction function, allowing the user to see the position of the target in the measurement axis in real time via an integrated CMOS camera and to correct for part misalignment due to imperfect presentation.

The LS-9000 has onboard monitoring capability of up to four measurement axes per controller. The controller performs a variety of statistical process control (SPC), calculation and data logging functions, and can incorporate optional network and programmable logic controller (PLC) interface systems.
