TAIPEI, Taiwan, Aug. 10, 2010 — GlacialTech Inc. has introduced the GL-BR20D/30D/40D series low-power LED bulbs that are 110/220-VAC LED retrofits for conventional bromine halogen bulbs. What makes them unique is the triode for alternating current (TRIAC)-dimmable function embodied in the bulbs for smoothly dimming down to complete darkness while the dimmer's conduction angle is being diminished toward nil.
The proprietary self-designed and self-contained LED drivers demonstrate the GlacialLight (GL) technology implanted in all of the company’s LED products for maximal luminous efficacy and minimal carbon dioxide emission.
To improve upon the performance of traditional bromine halogen bulbs, the series features longer lifetimes of 35,000 h minimum, higher luminous efficacy and lower environmental pollution. The bulbs adopt efficient LEDs, feed on an AC input voltage of 110/220 V, suit standard E26/E27 sockets, and apply to accent, local and spotlighting.
The bulbs incorporate a patented LED driver intelligently detecting the input voltage chopped by a TRIAC dimmer and rectified by a bridge diode to fluently dim the LEDs. Based on this advanced technology, the dimming series devices provide two optional models: a low-voltage and a high-voltage version, respectively supporting 110 and 220 V as well as individually compatible with a multitude of TRIAC dimmers commonly available.
The nondimmable GL-BR30/40 and TRIAC-dimmable GL-BR20D/30D/40D series satisfy specific requirements. They have been manufactured in accordance with the RoHS standard and contain no mercury. Benefits include the effective elimination of frequent bulb replacement, as well as low power and low carbon dioxide.
Serving as direct replacements for traditional halogen bulbs and compact fluorescent lamps, they are suitable for indoor use only. Their power factor is >0.9 at 110 VAC and >0.8 at 220 VAC. They deliver high power efficiency of >80% and produce no UV or IR radiation.
They are compliant with the following safety standards: EN60968, EN61347-1+EN61347-2-13, EN55015+EN61000-3-2 class C, EN60825-1, FCC Part 18, UL1993 and CSA C22.2 No.74.
They produce cool light to reduce the rise of the ambient temperature, and are energy-saving and environmentally friendly.
