MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif., March 25, 2009 – Newport Corp.’s Spectra-Physics Laser Div. has released the Iris optical parametric oscillator (OPO), a tunable, ultrafast laser source for advanced imaging and spectroscopy applications.
The OPO is optimized for use with the company’s Mai Tai HP ultrafast laser and it delivers a gap-free ultrafast tuning range from 340 to 2500 nm. It features full automation for computer-controlled tuning across the range without adjustment or change of optics.
It offers multiple ports for simultaneous UV, visible and infrared output, ideal for applications that require multiple wavelengths, including coherent anti-Stokes Raman scattering imaging. It delivers >1 W of average power from 340 to 520 nm and >400 mW from 490 to 750 nm. It features adjustable pulse widths from 80 to 350 fs and is optimized for stability, making it insensitive to ambient temperature change.
