The BMP series of intelligent displacement sensors from Balluff GmbH provides absolute position signal for the stroke travel of a piston via IO-Link and information about sensor conditions.
The devices monitor, for example, the sensor temperature and the number of starts, while being able to issue warnings when a configurable limit value is violated. An internal counter continuously monitors the operating hours over the entire life of the sensor, making it possible to plan for a possible needed replacement at the next service interval. The integrated IO-Link interface provides flexibility and enables fast format changes with time-saving parameterization functions.
The magnetic, noncontact, wear-free sensor continuously detects the absolute position of a piston and is compatible with virtually all cylinder types. Preferred applications include assembly, handling, and factory automation.
