Coherent’s family of mid- and long-wavelength infrared wire-grid polarizers were made for use in applications such as laser based metrology and atmospheric remote sensing. Operating over 3 - 5 µm and over 7 - 14 µm, respectively, the polarizers are based on meta-optics wire technology and are nanopatterned with nonoxidizing materials, which significantly increases their reliability compared with wire-grid polarizers made from aluminum, copper, or silver materials.
