Industrial Smart CamerasThe EoSens Creation series of field-programmable gate array (FPGA) program-ready smart cameras from Mikrotron GmbH is designed for multicamera industrial automation systems.

The devices enable engineers to embed their own custom IP into a Mikrotron 2-MP 10GigE GenICam-compliant camera with the power to externally stream 10-bit pixel images at 535 fps or internally stream 8-bit images at 2240 fps. A sensitivity of 20V/lx at 550 nm achieves high-contrast, detailed images in low-light environments. The SFP+ connection works with both copper and fiber interfaces, making it possible to install long cable runs using low-cost Ethernet cabling, switches, and network interfaces.

Offering an open, scalable framework, the cameras feature an XiLINX Kintex Ultrascale FPGA and an additional on-board 2-GB DDRD of memory for edge functions like defect pixel correction, gamma correction, dynamic range correction, and noise reduction.
