Hyperspectral Retinal Imaging System
Photon etc.Request Info
Targeting the emerging field of hyperspectral retinal imaging, Photon etc. has unveiled the IRIS system for noninvasive localization of biomolecules in the eye fundus. Based on a custom-made mydriatic retinal camera and a proprietary tunable laser source, the instrument performs high-definition retinal imaging at wavelengths from 420 to 1000 nm.
It is a research tool for understanding and developing tomorrow’s treatments for retinal diseases, such as diabetic retinopathy and age-related macular degeneration.
Developed for ophthalmological studies, an automatic spectral calibration setup guarantees spectral reproducibility in time, while an integrated photodiode provides temporal normalization of the light intensity. The instrument includes a sensitive CCD camera for high-definition imaging and is supplied with a chin rest and an X-Y-Z manual positioning system.
The supplied illumination is based on proprietary and patented Bragg grating filtering technology and allows for rapid and accurate (<1 nm) wavelength selection from a supercontinuum source.
The system enables noninvasive localization of structures and biomolecules in the retina using their specific spectral signatures, and makes it possible to localize any structure or biomolecule with spectral signatures and to gather more information about eye disorders.
