Thorlabs Inc. has expanded its piezoelectric product line with high-temperature multilayer actuators made from British Standard Pipe Taper (BSPT) ceramics.
The 5 × 5 × 3-mm actuators can operate at temperatures up to 250 °C, offering a travel range of up to 4 µm with a drive voltage of 150 V. BSPT ceramics have a high Curie temperature by the need for low-voltage piezo actuators that work above 200 °C. Custom BSPT piezo actuators with displacement up to 100 µm and drive voltage down to 45 V are available upon request.
