High-Power SLDs
Hamamatsu Photonics UK Ltd.Request Info
WELWYN GARDEN CITY, England, Dec. 23, 2010 — Hamamatsu Photonics UK Ltd. has introduced the L11341 series of superluminescent diodes (SLDs) to its existing range of high-performance diodes. The new series features a very high radiant flux of 30 mW at a peak wavelength of 1050 nm, which is long for an SLD and unique among the company’s range.
In common with all SLDs, the L11341 series exhibits very low coherency, especially compared to a typical laser diode. And unlike an LED, the emission area is very small. The series is available in a range of packages including side-out OHS and head-out OHS types.
Output power is 30 mW, operating current is 260 mA, emitting width is 5 µm, and spectral width is 50 nm.
These features make the series suitable for a wide range of applications including ophthalmology, optical gyroscopes, optical coherence tomography and various measurement, fibre optic and medical applications.
