Panasonic Corp. has announced a single cable and connector that enables transmission of uncompressed, full-spectrum 8K video signals.

The cable uses plastic optical fiber technology and a ballpoint pen-type interconnect. By applying technology for the multilevel modulation of broadband signals, a transmission bandwidth exceeding 100 Gb/s is achieved with a single cable.
