FIVE-MEGAPIXEL CMOS SENSOR
OMNIVISIONRequest Info
Based on proprietary OmniPixel technology, the OV5610 small-scale five-megapixel CMOS image sensor launched by OmniVision Technologies Inc. has 2.775-µm pixels and a 1/1.8-in. footprint. It incorporates a 2592 × 1944 image array and an on-chip 10-bit A/D converter that operates at up to 4 fps in full resolution. Advanced algorithms cancel fixed pattern noise, eliminate smearing, reduce blooming and virtually eliminate dark current. The control registers enable flexibility of timing, polarity and operation. The company says that the OmniPixel technology improves the light sensitivity of the sensor, resulting in a higher signal-to-noise ratio and better performance in low-light situations.
