LARNE, Ireland, June 16, 2021 — EMCCD CameraThe Kestrel 1000 Electron Multiplying Charge Coupled Device (EMCCD) Camera from Raptor Photonics Ltd. offers ultralow readout noise while running at 1,000 fps in full frame and up to 1,800 fps with region of interest.

The camera has a 128 × 128 back-thinned sensor with 26-μm pixels for optimal image resolution in low-light imaging applications. It runs in 16-bit Camera Link output for real-time imaging of low-latency photon to digital image, offering up to 95% quantum efficiency.

The device features e2v’s CCD-60 back-thinned 1/3-in. sensor. Applications include adaptive optics and astronomy, calcium signalling, high-resolution fluorescence imaging, hyperspectral imaging, x-ray and high energy, particle image velocimetry, and high-speed object tracking.
