PrincetonInstruments.jpgPrinceton Instruments/Acton has released the PhotonMax 1024B electron-multiplying (EM) CCD camera suitable for astronomy, multispectral imaging, single-molecule fluorescence and plasma diagnostics. It uses a 1024 × 1024 frame-transfer, back-illuminated array and has a 13.3 × 13.3-μm field of view with >95% peak quantum efficiency for large-format, low-light-level imaging. It has a 10-MHz, 16-bit digitizer and an optional fiber optic data interface that provides remote operation from a distance of up to 300 m away. Permanent all-metal vacuum seals are guaranteed for the lifetime of the camera. Dual amplifiers provide individually optimized signal chains for a two-in-one imaging solution.
