in laser additive manufacturing
(LAM) power-bed systems. The
optimum LAM process is likely to
require a near uniform heat input
to the powder-bed as the laser
spot is translated in any direction.
This requires a rotationally symmetric
intensity profile, which is
what the DEFT beam shaper produces.
The output size is customizable during the design process.
