Tower Semiconductor and Xscape Photonics collaborated on an on-chip, optically pumped, multi-wavelength laser source. The laser source is built on the PH18 Silicon Photonics platform for both CWDM and DWDM wavelength grids for disaggregated AI datacenter fabrics. It reduces latency and component count for GPU-to-GPU and GPU-to-HBM optical links in AI clusters. The supply chain is simplified by monolithically embedding programmable multicolor lasers on-chip, pumped optically by a single CW external laser.
