DOP-201 meter
General Photonics Corp.Request Info
CHINO, Calif., June 6, 2013 — Using a patented maximum and minimum search technique, the DOP-201 meter from General Photonics measures and displays the degree of polarization (DOP) of a light source in real time with high accuracy and wide dynamic range.
Faster and more accurate than its predecessor, the instrument offers features that are designed for automated test equipment (ATE) systems and that include triggered measurement, an analog monitor voltage, more robust communication interfaces and an SCPI-compliant command set.
The meter can characterize the performance of depolarizers and depolarized light sources, such as amplified spontaneous emission (ASE) and superluminescent LEDs, and the pumps for Raman amplifiers. It also can monitor the optical signal-to-noise ratio (OSNR) and polarization mode dispersion (PMD) of optical signals. It covers a wide operating wavelength range, including the S-, C- and L-bands, without calibration.
Other applications include depolarizer manufacturing and quality control, fiber gyro coil characterization, Raman amplifier block manufacturing, reconfigurable optical add/drop multiplexer (ROADM) manufacturing and amplifier noise figure measurement.
