The Mathematica 6.0 technical computing software includes numerous new capabilities and enhancements and is applicable to a wider range of areas than the predecessor edition. Available from Wolfram Research Inc., it transforms models, simulations, computations or other concepts into fully interactive applications, sometimes within seconds. Sophisticated interactive interfaces can be created from single lines of input. This integrated development environment, along with advanced programming language and computational capabilities, render it suitable for one-time mini-applications through to large-scale infrastructure projects. Among the key new features is high-impact adaptive visualization for automated creation of high-fidelity function and data graphics. Immediate importing of medical images with arbitrary processing and visualization is possible with the program, which is available for Windows NT, 2000, XP and Vista, as well as for Mac OS X and other systems.
