BACK-THINNED CCD AREA IMAGE SENSORS
Hamamatsu CorporationRequest Info
The Hamamatsu Corp.'s S7030 and S7031 series of CCD image sensors feature line-binning and area-scanning modes, leading to what the company calls unparalleled signal-to-noise ratio and signal processing speed. These back-thinned sensors are suited for fluorescence and Raman spectroscopy, optical and spectrophotometric analysis, and other low-light detection applications. Both employ fast Fourier transform CCDs and have a pixel size of 24 3 24 µm. Quantum efficiency is greater than 90 percent at some wavelengths, and the spectral response ranges from 200 to 1100 nm. At an operating frequency of 150 kHz, readout noise is 8 e2 rms. The S7030 is uncooled, while the S7031 is thermoelectrically cooled.
