The MCF 2300 from Photon Kinetics is an automated measurement system for characterizing key properties of multicore optical fibers. The system is fully automated with sequential core alignment that enables complete glass geometry and a cut-off wavelength measurement of a 12-core MCF fiber in less than 90 seconds. The MCF is capable of measurements including automated bi-directional optical time domain reflectometer (OTDR) and MFD by OTDR with options for chromatic dispersion and polarization mode dispersion (PMD) that are performed on multi-kilometer, full-length fiber spools.
