The AS7058 from ams OSRAM is an analog front end (AFE) that uses photoplethysmography (PPG) signals to improve the reliability and accuracy of wearable devices. Producing an optical signal-to-noise ratio of 120 dB, the AFE can help improve PPG measurements such as heart rate, respiration rate, blood oxygen saturation, and blood pressure. The AS7058 also features two 20-bit analog-to-digital converters, two current sinks for driving eight LED emitters, eight photodiode inputs, and the ability to take ECG measurements.
