The RPR-0730 from ROHM is an analog compact optical sensor for high-precision detection of fast-moving objects. The RPR-0730 is a reflective sensor, and it uses an infrared VCSEL, which offers higher directionality than LEDs and enables detection of finer objects. The package is ultracompact at 2.0 mm × 1.0 mm × 0.55 mm and employs a visible light filtering resin to suppress interference from ambient light or sunlight, which enables stable detection in varying light conditions. The sensor can be used in applications such as label printers, material or product transport systems, and copiers.
