AOI INTRODUCES 1310-nm BUTTERFLY-PACKAGED LASERS
Applied Optoelectronics Inc. (AOI)Request Info
At NFOEC this year, Applied Optoelectronics, Inc. (AOI) is introducing a new line of cooled 1310-nm DFB lasers. These lasers offer high output powers (to 25 mW) and excellent distortion characteristics (CSO < -57 dB), making them suitable for both forward- and return-path CATV applications. Available immediately, the DFB-1310-BF series is housed in an industry standard 14-pin butterfly package with OC-48 pin compatibility. With their integrated isolators, these lasers resist signal distortion over links reaching beyond 40 kilometers. An integrated TE cooler maintains the laser’s stability over an operating range extending from -20 to 65 degrees Celsius. These lasers are offered with output power levels up to 20mW. Available for both digital and analog applications, the digital lasers can be directly modulated at 2.5 Gbps. The analog versions can carry a full channel count in forward path applications over the 50 MHz to 860 MHz frequency range. Both are cost-effective sources for intermediate- and long-reach applications. These lasers complement AOI’s line of uncooled 1310-nm DFB and Fabry-Perot laser devices, giving the company a complete line of cutting-edge devices for short-, intermediate-, and long-reach applications.
