POET Technologies’ 1.6T receiver optical engines are designed for AI and cloud networks. The architecture targets 1.6T DR8 and 2×FR4 receiver optical engines designed for AI cluster and intra-datacenter links. The optical engines use POET’s optical interposer platform and Semtech’s FiberEdge 200G-per-lane receiver technologies, creating chip-scale receive engines that simplify module assembly. The optical engines include DR8 for short-reach AI cluster links and 2×FR4 for longer-reach intra-datacenter connectivity. The optical engines have lower power, higher sensitivity, reduced assembly steps, and improved electrical/optical signal integrity at 200G/lane. The 2×FR4 receiver optical engine includes integrated demultiplexers, providing efficient optical signal separation within a streamlined module footprint.
