2015 Photonics West

2015 Photonics West

SPIE Photonics West is touted as the #1 international laser, photonics and biomedical conference and trade show. Held annually, several topic-specific sessions are presented, in addition to exhibitions, courses, a job fair, and special events in technology, industry, networking and others.

A projected 20,000 attendees will see nearly 1,250 exhibiting companies and 4,700 papers on biomedical optics, biophotonics, translational research, industrial lasers, optoelectronics, microfabrication, 3-D printing, MOEMS-MEMS, optical communications, displays and more.

Sessions to be held include BiOS 2015 (Biophotonics and Biomedical Optics), which offers the latest on biomedical optics, diagnostics and therapeutics, biophotonics, new imaging modalities, optical coherence tomography, neurophotonics, optogenetics and tissue optics. LASE 2015 (Laser Technology and Industrial Laser) features the latest laser manufacturing, laser materials processing, micro-nano packaging, fiber, diode and solid state lasers, laser resonators, ultrafast and semiconductor lasers and LEDs, and 3-D fabrication technologies.

The OPTO 2015 (Optoelectronics and Photonics) session demonstrates the latest on silicon photonics, photonic crystals, optoelectronics, semiconductor lasers, quantum dots and nanophotonics research. This also addresses the latest developments in a broad range of optoelectronic technologies and their integration for a variety of commercial applications. Green Photonics 2015 highlights papers from OPTO and LASE that showcase the latest photonics and optoelectronic tools and materials that will reduce power consumption, enable cleaner manufacturing, and create new energy generation for a broad range of applications.

The Applications of 3-D Printing 2015 will focus on papers from BiOS, LASE and OPTO that showcase innovative ways to apply this multidimensional, multidisciplinary technology.

Exhibitions to be held are the BiOS Expo (February 7-8), which focuses on biomedical optics and biophotonics, and the flagship Photonics West exhibition (February 10-12), which features companies from around the world sharing the latest products, tools and applications for research and business.

The BiOS Expo showcases the latest technologies and demonstrations from more than 230 companies in the biomedical optics and photonics industries. Exhibitors include Hamamatsu Corp., Agilent Technologies Inc., Edmund Optics, Jenoptik and Thorlabs.

The Photonics West Exhibition will feature an international collection of more than 1,200 companies such as Electro-Optics Technology Inc., Powerlase Photonics, Trioptics and Hamamatsu Corp.

SPIE Photonics West is also the stage for the Prism Awards for Photonics Innovation. This is an annual competition recognizing new products and innovative inventions that solve problems and improve quality of life.
