Sinopec, the largest company in China and its leading producer and supplier of oil and petrochemical products, will use Thermo Fisher Scientific Inc.'s laboratory information management systems (LIMS), chromatography data systems (CDS) and desktop spectroscopy software for two of its information technology systems, the companies announced today. As the corporate standard at Sinopec, the systems will be used to track, store, manage, report and share data companywide. After testing at its Sinopec Guangzhou Branch, Sinopec decided to implement Thermo Scientific SampleManager LIMS, Atlas CDS and GRAMS enterprise software in laboratories in its refinery, chemical and R&D facilities in China. Waltham, Mass.-based Thermo Fisher, the result of the merger between Thermo Electron Corp. and Fisher Scientific Inc. in November, acquired SwissAnalytic Group AG in January.
